Asia’s largest sea transport girders “Tianyi†was put into the construction of the Hangzhou Bay Bridge. The ship has a length of 93 meters, a width of 40 meters, a depth of 7 meters, a lifting capacity of 3,000 tons, a lifting height of 53 meters and a pitch of 16 meters. It was designed by the China Railway Bridge Bureau. It was started in September 2004 and completed the navigation test in December 2005. Then, it was put into trial production with a total investment of 145 million yuan.
"Tianyi" has advanced equipment and high technology content. The winch and operation control system are imported from abroad. It adopts full-rotation rudder propeller propulsion device and is equipped with a first-side propeller. It has horizontal traverse capability and strong positioning ability. The ability to withstand wind and waves can better meet the requirements of precise and stable construction. It is understood that the ship ranks first in Asia and second in the world among similar ships.
