AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle) means "underwater vehicle". At the beginning of this year, the Engineering Operations Company of CNOOC's Geophysical Exploration Division introduced the Explorer 3000 AUV from abroad. The device is equipped with multi-beam, geomorphology, shallow section and other instruments, and uses the inertial navigation, Doppler log, ultra-short baseline and other positioning equipment to accurately position, can work continuously under water for 24 hours, the maximum water depth of the operation 3000 meters, the equipment is used for deepwater engineering survey business. In addition, the AUV is equipped with depth and height sensors, allowing it to capture depth and sea level data at any time, while monitoring submarine terrain and obstacle distances in real time to avoid collisions. The deepest AUV can dive to the bottom of the sea with a depth of 3,000 meters, and maintain exploration with the seabed and other heights.
The working mother ship collected in the field is the “Ocean Oil 709†ship, and the working area has a water depth of 1,300 meters. At the project summary meeting on the day, CNOOC service technicians showed the image data collected by the operation, and the accuracy and quality of the company made the employer praise again and again.
This is the first deep-sea survey operation after the launch of COAEC AUV equipment. It is also the first time in China to independently conduct survey services in the deep-sea rugged seabed area through AUV investigation and interpretation technology.
At this point, COSL has already possessed various equipment, technologies and capabilities such as submarine geological borehole sampling, deepwater static penetration (CPT) and engineering geophysical exploration required by the 3,000-meter water engineering survey.
