Peru’s “Operations†reported on October 4, 2010, according to Peruvian customs information, from January to August this year, Peru imported 76 million US dollars of new tires, an increase of 89.6%. In the same period, the number of tire imports increased from 270,000 last year to 498,000 this year, of which 36% were imported from China, and imports from China and Brazil increased by 162% and 99.9%, respectively. Major importers include Mischhel del Peru, CoMErcio & Cia. and Cia. Goodyear del Peru.
