Volkswagen China CEO Ni Kaiming: 8-10% increase in Chinese auto market next year

According to Reuters, Karl-Thomas Neumann, the general manager of Volkswagen China, predicted that the Chinese automobile market will increase by about 8-10% in 2012 and that this year, Volkswagen’s sales in China will be determined to exceed two million.

On November 21st, the Guangzhou Auto Show kicked off. Ni Kaiming said in an interview at the exhibition that it is expected that the growth rate of the Chinese auto market will be around 8-10% in 2012, and the sales growth of Volkswagen will be higher than that figure. Ni Kaiming also expressed confidence that Volkswagen’s sales in China this year will exceed two million.

As early as August 26 this year, Volkswagen Group announced that in the 20th anniversary celebration of FAW Volkswagen, it has announced that this year's total sales in the Chinese market will exceed two million mark. Among them, total sales of FAW-Volkswagen are expected to reach more than one million vehicles.

In terms of sales in October, Volkswagen has achieved 200,000 units in China; cumulative sales in the first 10 months were 1.89 million units, compared with 1.65 million units last year, a year-on-year increase of 14.8%.
