The first buses equipped with Konka's EFI system were rolled out yesterday.

China-made car EFI system for the first time to achieve China-made [Reporting News] August 23, Chongqing. With the loud roar of a “Dongfeng Xiaokang” minibus, the “Konka AE06” car EFI system passed the customer acceptance after more than one year of rigorous limit testing.

He Jianjun, vice president of Konka Group announced at the press conference that the "Konka AE06" car EFI system will be officially put into production and sales, the first assembly of "Dongfeng Xiaokang" mini-car.

This indicates that the first electronic control system products with independent intellectual property rights of Chinese national enterprises were officially allowed to enter the market, and the first cars equipped with Chinese “core” were born in Chongqing.

Independent research and development give birth to the automobile "Chinese core"

In the automotive industry, the engine is hailed as the heart of the car, and the EFI system is a key component to the normal operation of the heart. As a key part of the control of the engine, EFI control technology has a high technical threshold and strict access restrictions. For a long time the technology and market have been monopolized by Bosch, Siemens, Delphi, Motorola and other international automotive electronics giants.

In 2002, Konka led many times to the United States and Europe to investigate the technological development of the local automotive electronics industry. In 2004, Konka successfully brought Chang Jing, Motorola’s automotive electronics strategy manager, to the company’s global plan to recruit talent. Dozens of top engineering and technical talents from internationally renowned automotive electronics companies such as Motorola, Aihua, Bosch, Thomson, etc. quickly converged to Konka in a short period of time. This group of experts accumulated a wealth of technology and analyzed and studied foreign automotive EFIs on the one hand. Based on the actual conditions of the Chinese market, the advantages of the control system are based on the actual R&D design of the Chinese market. After more than two years, it has successfully broken through the technical barriers and has independently developed an automotive engine EFI control system that is more suitable for the needs of the Chinese market.

The advent of Konka's electronic fuel injection system broke the monopoly technology of foreign manufacturers and filled the technological gap in the domestic automotive electronics industry.

Forging a car "China Core"

According to Chang Jing, general manager of Konka Automotive's electronics division, automotive electronic control products are a very high technology and market entry barrier. If they cannot pass national and complete vehicle inspections, products cannot be approved for use. R&D investment has been overshadowed.

At the beginning of 2005, Konka's automotive EFI control system passed the inspection of a designated testing agency of the country. Konka has successively signed cooperation development agreements with multiple customers.

Zhu Jiang, Senior Technical Manager of Konka Electronic Control Systems, told reporters that the calibration and testing of the electronic control system assembled on the “Dongfeng Xiaokang” micro-vehicle that was unveiled on the day officially kicked off in 2005. After signing the development agreement, Luan Huaihai provided Konka with test engines and engineering prototypes. First, the engine rig calibration test was conducted. As a result, the engine performance indexes of the Konka AE06 EFI management system all meet the target requirements. Subsequently, driving performance tests were conducted. The results showed that vehicles equipped with Konka Model AE060 car EFI system were successfully started once in a low temperature environment of -30°C, a high temperature condition of 40°C, and a plateau environment with an altitude of 4,500 meters or more. Excellent driving performance.

The general manager of Konka Automotive Electronics Chang Jing said that Konka has signed cooperation agreements with many domestic automobile manufacturers. It is expected that the Konka Automotive EFI system will reach a sales volume of more than 400,000 units per year within three years. By then, automotive electronics will gradually grow into a pillar industry for the future development of Konka.
