Recently, the "Xiangyanghong 28" scientific research ship successfully sailed. The ship's propulsion system has been transformed from a fixed pitch propulsion system to an adjustable paddle propulsion system. The transformation work was completed by Nanjing Gaojing Marine Equipment Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the NGC. The successful transformation of the ship's propulsion system solved the requirement that the fixed-pitch propulsion system could not meet the low-speed navigation of the scientific research work.
It is reported that the "Xiangyanghong 28" scientific research ship has a total length of 74.55m and a ship width of 10m. The original ship main engine is two low-speed diesel engines produced in the 1970s. The main engine connects the thrust bearing and the fixed pitch propeller through the pneumatic clutch, and the original ship shaft system runs. The vibration during the process is severe, and the torque transmission capacity of the pneumatic clutch is reduced. After passing the analysis and ship inspection with the ship owner and the shipyard, Nanjing Gaojing Marine finally determined to retain the original main engine, replacing the original pneumatic clutch with the gearbox with built-in hydraulic clutch and thrust bearing, and at the same time in the gearbox and the main engine. A high-elastic coupling is placed between them. The fixed pitch paddle is replaced with an adjustable paddle to meet the low speed requirements for scientific research. The scheme has the advantages of low cost, high efficiency and small workload, and is recognized by ship owners and shipyards. Nanjing Gaojing Marine has designed a new on-line oil distributor for small adjustable propellers, successfully solved a series of technical problems in space layout and hydraulic oil supply, and carried out strict adjustment test before leaving the factory.
It is understood that the time for the transformation of the propulsion system is tight and difficult. The on-site installation and commissioning tasks are cumbersome and difficult, and the transformation has retained a lot of equipment of the original ship.
