From August 16th to 17th, 2010, the 158th Oriental Technology Forum hosted by the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, jointly organized by the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Shanghai Jiaotong University The museum was successfully held. The theme of the forum was "Mid-infrared solid-state laser technology and application", and Academician Fan Yuyuan of Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics served as executive chairman of the forum. Approximately 50 experts from well-known scholars from domestic and foreign research institutes, universities and business circles attended the meeting.

Ms. Chen Xin from the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission presided over the opening ceremony. Academician Zhang Jie, President of Shanghai Jiaotong University, delivered a welcome speech as the representative of the organizer. The Deputy Secretary-General of the East Forum Council and Director of the Basic Research Division of the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission Hu Duo attended the invitation and delivered a speech.

More than 10 experts and scholars such as Academician Fang Jiaxiong, Academician Zhu Shiing, Professor Liu Zejin, Researcher Lu Yueguang, and researcher Chen Weibiao have made brilliant academic reports on important applications such as application requirements, key technologies, and development trends of mid-infrared solid state laser technology. Professor Chen Weibiao, deputy director of the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, presided over the final free discussion. The delegates conducted a lively discussion on relevant issues. After extensive and in-depth exchanges and brainstorming, Academician Fan Ruyuan concluded the consensus and recommendations of mid-infrared solid-state laser technology research in his concluding speeches, including several important development directions and key technologies to be broken through.

Mid-infrared solid-state laser technology has a very important application prospect in civil and defense fields. The successful holding of the forum will promote multi-disciplinary cross-convergence and integration of the research work of our institute's mid-infrared solid-state lasers to a deeper level, which will greatly promote the future development of China's mid-infrared solid-state laser technology and enhance China’s overall development in this field. Competitiveness.

Stamping

Stamping is a manufacturing process that involves applying pressure to a material to deform it into a desired shape or size. There are various types of stamping processes utilized in the industry, each with its unique set of advantages and disadvantages. In this article, we will describe some of the most common types of stamping processes.
Blanking: Blankings are flat pieces of sheet metal that have been precisely cut and punched out from larger sheets of metal. Blanking is a process used to produce these flat pieces, and is ideal for producing large quantities of uniform, flat parts.
Coining: Coining is a stamping process used to create impressively flat and precise features - often used in creating coins or bearing seals.
Drawing: Drawing involves pulling a flat piece of metal through a die with a punch tool to form it into a three-dimensional shape. This process is commonly used in the creation of products such as automobile fenders, cans, and ship hulls.
Embossing: Embossing is the process of applying raised designs or patterns to a flat piece of metal by impressing the metal with a die. This process is popularly used in the production of decorations and signage.
Piercing: Piercing is the process of punching or drilling holes in a metal sheet. It is widely used in creating products such as luggage tags, name plates, and metal attachments.
Blanking and forming: Blanking and forming involve using a single die to create a part that has a variety of features, both flat and formed. It is a highly efficient process for creating complex parts.

Overall, stamping is a versatile manufacturing process that plays a crucial role in the production of a wide range of metal parts and components. By understanding the different types of stamping processes, manufacturers can select the most suitable process for producing high-quality parts in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
