In the metal most common beneficiation plant crushing process is coarse, medium, fine screening operations plus three sections closed circuit crushing process, but there are two open or closed crushing process.

The first section of the three-stage crushing process is coarse crushing, generally adopting jaw crusher or rotary crusher ; the second section is medium crushing, and more standard cone crusher is used ; the third section is fine crushing, commonly used short head cone Crusher.

For a small processing plant with a small throughput, a roller crusher can be used in the third stage.

In the second-stage and one-closed crushing process, the medium-sized cone crusher is used in the last section. In the small-scale selection or crushing of brittle materials, a counter-crusher or a hammer crusher can be used.
