BALLUFF proximity switch performance characteristics
BALLUFF Proximity Switch In all types of switches, there is a component that has "feel" ability to approach its object - a displacement sensor. The purpose of using a displacement sensor to approach the object to achieve control switch on or off purposes, this is the BALLUFF proximity switch.
When there is an object moving towards the BALLUFF proximity switch and approaching a certain distance, the displacement sensor will only “perceive” and the switch will act. This distance is usually called the "checkout distance." Different BALLUFF proximity switches detect different distances.
Sometimes the object to be inspected is moved to the BALLUFF proximity switch one by one at certain intervals of time, and one by one again, so that it repeats continuously. Different BALLUFF proximity switches have different response capabilities to detection objects. This response characteristic is called "response frequency".
2 types
Because the displacement sensor can be made according to different principles and different methods, and different sensors have different “perceived” methods for objects, the common BALLUFF proximity switches have the following types:
1. Eddy-current BALLUFF proximity switch
This switch is sometimes called inductive BALLUFF proximity switch. It is the use of conductive objects in the proximity of this can generate electromagnetic field BALLUFF proximity switch, so that the object generates eddy currents. This eddy current reacts to the BALLUFF proximity switch, causing the internal circuit parameters of the switch to change, thereby recognizing the presence or absence of a conductive object approaching, and thus controlling the on and off of the switch. The object that this BALLUFF proximity switch can detect must be a conductor.
2. Capacitive BALLUFF proximity switch
The measurement of such a switch is usually one plate constituting a capacitor, and the other plate is the housing of the switch. This enclosure is usually grounded or connected to the enclosure of the device during the measurement process. When an object moves to the BALLUFF proximity switch, whether it is a conductor or not, because of its proximity, the dielectric constant of the capacitor always changes, so that the capacitance changes, and the state of the circuit connected to the measuring head also follows. Changes are made so that the switch can be turned on or off. This BALLUFF proximity sensor detects objects that are not limited to conductors, insulating liquids, or powders.
3, Hall BALLUFF proximity switch
The Hall element is a magnetosensitive element. A switch made using a Hall element is called a Hall switch. When the magnetic object moves close to the Hall switch, the Hall element on the detection surface of the switch changes the internal circuit state of the switch due to the generation of the Hall effect, thereby recognizing the presence of a magnetic object in the vicinity, thereby controlling the on or off of the switch. The detection object of this BALLUFF proximity switch must be a magnetic object.
4, photoelectric BALLUFF proximity switch
Switch made of photoelectric effect is called photoelectric switch. The light emitting device and the optoelectronic device are mounted in the same test head in a certain direction. When there is a reflective surface (detected object) approaching, the optoelectronic device receives the reflected light and then outputs the signal, thereby "sensing" the approach of the object.
5, pyroelectric BALLUFF proximity switch
A switch made of a device that senses a change in temperature is called a pyroelectric BALLUFF proximity switch. This kind of switch is to install the pyroelectric device on the detection surface of the switch. When there is an object that is close to the ambient temperature, the output of the pyroelectric device changes, and thus the proximity of the object can be detected.
6, other types of BALLUFF proximity switch
When the observer or system changes the distance of the wave source, the frequency of the approaching wave will shift. This phenomenon is called the Doppler effect. Sonar and radar are made using the principle of this effect. Ultrasonic BALLUFF proximity switches and microwave BALLUFF proximity switches can be made using the Doppler effect. When an object approaches, the reflected signal received by the BALLUFF proximity switch will produce a Doppler frequency shift, thereby identifying whether or not objects are close.
3 Main Applications BALLUFF proximity switches are widely used in aerospace, aerospace, aerospace technology and industrial production. In daily life, such as automatic doors of hotels, restaurants and garages, there are applications on automatic hot air blowers. In terms of security and anti-theft, such as data files, accounting, finance, museums, treasury and other places, are usually equipped with anti-theft devices composed of various BALLUFF proximity switches. In measurement technology, such as length, position measurement; in the control technology, such as displacement, velocity, acceleration measurement and control, also use a large number of BALLUFF proximity switches. 4 optional precautions
In general industrial production sites, eddy current BALLUFF proximity switches and capacitive BALLUFF proximity switches are commonly used. Because these two BALLUFF proximity switches have lower requirements on the environment. When the measured object is a conductive object or an object that can be fixed on a metal object, the eddy current BALLUFF proximity switch is generally selected because of its high response frequency, good resistance to environmental interference, wide application range, and low price. If the measured object is non-metal (or metal), liquid level, powder height, plastic, tobacco and so on. The capacitive BALLUFF proximity switch should be used. This switch has a low response frequency but good stability. The environmental factors should be considered when installing. If the object to be measured is a magnetically permeable material or a magnet is embedded in the object to be measured in order to distinguish it from an object that moves with it, a Hall BALLUFF proximity switch should be used, which has the lowest price.
In the case of better environmental conditions, no dust pollution, photoelectric BALLUFF proximity switch can be used. When the photoelectric BALLUFF proximity switch works, it has almost no influence on the measured object. Therefore, it is widely used in tobacco machinery in demanding fax machines.
In anti-theft systems, automatic doors typically use pyroelectric BALLUFF proximity switches, ultrasonic BALLUFF proximity switches, and microwave BALLUFF proximity switches. Sometimes in order to improve the reliability of recognition, the above-mentioned several BALLUFF proximity switches are often used in combination.
Whichever type of BALLUFF proximity switch is selected, attention should be paid to the requirements for the operating voltage, load current, response frequency, and detection distance.
